Duration
The festival will start on Thursday afternoon (13.05.2010) ending Sunday evening (16.05.2010), (4 days / 3 nights).
When preparing yourself, please, take into account that this particular Thursday is a legal holiday in all of Germany (Ascension Day), a fact which might influence the planning of your journey.
Check-in will be possible on Thursday from 1 p.m. on, children’s programmes will start around 4 p.m., the first workshops at about 6 p.m. On Sunday, the last workshops will end at 3 p.m.
Place
The festival will take place at Werbellinsee north of Berlin in the spacious facilities of a youth hostel located in charming surroundings. The facilities comprise several hundred beds as well as numerous study rooms offering sufficient space to realize a comprehensive programme. Originally the facilities were built as a holiday camp for pionieers, being remodelled after 1989 into a modern holiday resort.
Shabbath and Kashruth
All food offered throughout the festival will be kosher. Next to meat meals there will always be the possibility to opt for a vegetarian meal.
All activites offered by Limmud will strictly respect the Shabbath in order to enable everybody to participate in the workshops on Shabbath.
We plan to have an eruv before the start of Shabbath also in 2010, which will include the dining room, part of the prayer rooms and some buildings in which the rooms of the participants are located. Still, you should take into consideration that you might get a room outside the eruv, which means that you will have to bring along a Shabbath belt für the key to your room, since the number of rooms within the eruv is limited. If you insist on having a room within the eruv, please, let us know of your wish in your registration form under the heading „Important Messages“.
There is the possibility to organize services on Shabbath. Limmud tries very hard to offer room to the diversity of Jewish religous life. Please, tell us by e-mail (programm@limmud.de) if you would like to organize a service.
Accomodation
Accomodation is in rooms of the EJB Werbellinsee. The rooms are of different sizes. There are rooms with 2, 3, 4 and 6 beds, as well as a very limited number of single rooms. Generally all rooms have got a toilet and a shower of their own.
Your fee as a participant will depend on the size of the room which you opt for when registering.
Priority in allocating a 2-bed room will be given to those having paid the fees in full (registering either early or late). When registering you may indicate with whom you would like to share your room. We will try to take your wishes into account. Participants who did not indicate any preferences will be lodged with participants of the same sex and of similar age.
Families with children will generally be given a room together.
Special needs as to accomodation will be taken into account on an individual basis, irrespective of the amount paid.
EJB Werbellinsee has got rooms which are suited for handicapped persons. If you have got special needs which we should take into account regarding accomodation and other planning, please contact us under anmeldung@limmud.de.

We recommend to take the train to Eberswalde, central station, both for arriving and departing!

Trains of the Deutsche Bahn run about every hour from different long distance stations in Berlin, among others from Berlin, central station, to Eberswalde, central station. Travelling by train takes about 50 minutes.
The shuttle buses to the Limmud.de Festival will run from Eberswalde, central station, about every hour, shortly after the arrival of a train from Berlin, as follows:
On Thursday, 13.05.2010, at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Sunday, 16.05.2010, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Furthermore we will take care to help individual participants, arriving at Eberswalde out of the scheduled times of the shuttle buses, to get to the Limmud.de Festival in time.

It is also possible to arrive by car. There is plenty of parking space available. Please, be so kind as to park at the sites marked by our special signs.
All registered participants will get further information on arrival and departure as well as a description of the way in time before the start of the Limmud.de Festival.
